For the sixth year, the Garrard County School district was approved to implement Non-Traditional Instructional Days. These days will be used on selected days during the 2020-21 school year when weather or illness make it safer to learn from a distance. If an NTI day is going to be used, the ALL CALL will state that this is an NTI or Virtual Learning Day and that no students will be in school in-person. Teachers will be available by phone, through email, through Remind, or through Google Meet sessions to assist students from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (except for a 30 minute lunch break). Parents/students can call the school office and will be connected to teachers. Upon return to school, students will have 5 days to return completed work. Teachers will review the work and give appropriate feedback to parents and students. Our hope is that having NTI days with virtual learning will allow students to continue learning even when school is not in session in-person.
During a normal school year, NTI Days/Virtual Learning Days are limited to 10 days per school year. Because of the pandemic this year, the 10 day limit was lifted and NTI/Virtual Days can be used as needed throughout the school year.
Paper options can be requested for families without an internet connection.
