Welcome to GCHS Mrs. Nikki Barker!👏🦁
We're excited to welcome our new Paraeducator to the GCHS team!
After 13 rewarding years as a full-time homemaker raising her three children, Mrs. Barker brings a wealth of dedication, teamwork, and compassion—qualities she now brings to the classroom as well. Married for 14 years, she stays busy outside of school cheering on her kids at sporting events and helping on her family farm, where they raise cattle and goats.
We’re thrilled to have her join our MSD team!

We’re excited to introduce our new archery coach! With a competitive archery background spanning 7th through 12th grade in Madison County and 5 years of collegiate archery at the University of Pikeville on scholarship, she brings a wealth of experience to our program.
She is thrilled to help the next generation of student-athletes grow, improve, and succeed both in the classroom and on the range.

Gameday Tents on the Turf are available for one-game rentals at $250. Each rental includes a tent set up on the end zone turf by GCHS staff and 15 game tickets—perfect for families, friend groups, reunions or local businesses!
Only 5 tents are available per game, and it's first come, first serve, so don’t wait!

Meet Hannah Lawrence, our new Spanish teacher at Garrard County High School! A proud Garrard County native, Señora Lawrence earned her BA in Spanish Teaching and MAED in Special Education from EKU. After spending the last six years in Louisville and Shelbyville, she and her husband are excited to be back home!
In her free time, she enjoys reading, crocheting, traveling, cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles, and spending time with loved ones.
She’s thrilled to give back to her hometown and continue growing as an educator-GCHS is lucky to have her!

The GCHS Dance Team is excited to present their Kids Dance Summer Camp! On June 9th, little ones ages 3–5 can join the "Princess for a Day" session featuring ballet and jazz, where they’re encouraged to wear their prettiest tutus and ballet shoes (optional). On June 10th, kids ages 6–10 can attend "You Got the Moves," a hip-hop inspired session where dancing tennis shoes are a must! Both camps run from 10 AM to 12 PM in the GCHS Cafeteria and include fun activities like learning a dance routine, arts and crafts, treat bags, and a parent showcase at the end of the day. Help us give a warm welcome to Mr. Brandon McMullen, the newest member of the GCHS staff! Mr. McMullen comes to us with four years of experience teaching math at Lincoln County High School. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s in secondary math education. When he’s not in the classroom, he enjoys cheering on the Eagles and Wildcats, working on puzzles with his wife Katherine, and spending time with their son, Clay. He’s excited to join the GCHS family!🦁


Eighty-five seniors came together today to celebrate the final stretch of high school with an unforgettable trip to Kings Island! The GCHS TATU (Teens Against Tobacco Use) Club presented a puppet show to our youngest learners to help teach them about the dangers of tobacco products. 👏





We’re excited to announce that the 25/26 Dance Season Clinic and Tryouts will be held next week! Clinics will take place on April 28th and 29th from 3:30 to 5:30 PM in the Garrard County High School cafeteria, with tryouts scheduled for April 30th during the same time and location. The clinic and tryouts are open to all current 6th through 11th graders. All participants must have an up-to-date sports physical in order to attend.
