Happy Monday, GCS families! Today’s #mondaymoments come from Lancaster Elementary, where we visited K-5th Grade. 📚👍Our LES students were busy today! Practicing Christmas songs, working hard in math stations, staying active in Fitness, and learning all about our government!

Join us for our annual Meet the Lions Night, hosted by our Lady Lions and Golden Lions basketball teams! 🏀🦁 Festivities kick off at 6PM and include player introductions, boys and girls scrimmages, exciting competitions, a silent auction, and performances by our Dance and Cheer teams. Honoring our heroes at Paint Lick Elementary! 🇺🇸 This morning, PLE hosted a Veterans Day breakfast to express their gratitude to the brave Veterans who have served our country. After enjoying breakfast together, our Veterans participated in a special parade, and our PLE students and staff filled the hallways, waving flags and cheering to say thank you for their service. Thank you Veterans, for your service!

Join us as we honor our veterans! Our students will be participating in special Veterans Day activities on Friday, November 8th, and Monday, November 11th. Check the attached flyer for details and times at each school. Thank you to all of our veterans for your service!


Thumbs Up Thursday! 👍 Congratulations to our October attendance winners! Students with half a day or less absent and no tardies (97% attendance) this month received a special treat and were entered into a prize drawing. One student from each grade at every school took home a $10 gift card to Los Agaves, thanks to First Southern National Bank for sponsoring this month’s rewards. Way to go, students, and thank you, First Southern, for supporting our schools!

📞 Attention, GCS Families! Attendance calls will resume soon. Parents/guardians will receive an automated call around 10:00AM if a student is marked unexcused absent or tardy for that day. We appreciate your partnership in keeping attendance on track and ensuring every student has a great start to the school day!

It’s Thumbs Up Thursday and today we’re giving a BIG thumbs up to the students and staff of Garrard County for their incredible success on the Kentucky Summative Assessment!👍 TWO of our schools earned a BLUE (Very High) overall rating, and our other schools made GREAT strides with impressive gains! Garrard County Schools are excited to celebrate significant success on the recently released Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA) results. Several schools across the district showed impressive growth, with improvements in key academic indicators. Notably, four schools saw substantial point increases in their overall scores from last year, showcasing the hard work and dedication of our students and staff. We're also proud to announce that GCS now has TWO Blue schools- reaching the highest "Very High" status!
