
Garrard County High School is proud to be a recipient of College Board's Female Diversity Award for AP Computer Science Principles. Research shows that female students who take AP CSP in high school are more than five times as likely to major in computer science in college. Congratulations to the GCHS Odyssey of the Mind Team for winning their East Central Regional Tournament division yesterday at Corbin High School. Abigail Travis, Abagail Bailey, Milli Crace, Eliza Fuller, Natalie Clark, and Zoe Tuggle will compete at the state competition in March at Boyle County High School. The Odyssey of the Mind is a creative problem-solving program that encourages students to think outside of the box. Students were scored on their "Dramedy" and Spontaneous Categories. This group of students is part of the Gifted and Talented Program under the direction of Tisha Weaver.

The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships for high school students. Of the 1.5 million entrants, some 50,000 with the highest PSAT/NMSQT® Selection Index scores qualify for recognition in the National Merit Scholarship Program.
Ms. Abby Keith has previously qualified as a Semifinalist and was just recently named as a National Merit Scholarship Program Finalist!

Motivation Monday is here! AP Biology students did a cellular respiration muscle fatigue lab with some hands on learning! The lab showed them that over a time period of 100 seconds, lactic acid builds up in the muscles and it became harder to squeeze the tennis ball consecutively. #motivationmonday #gchsproud #gcsproud

Garrard County Schools will be utilizing a Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) Day today, Wednesday, February 1st, 2023. Students will report to classes virtually.


Garrard County High School's General Art classes have designed a school art instillation mural that encourages all students and faculty to participate. Each student can make a feather to make up the winged mural called "Flying with Pride". Each feather displays art about what is special to each person and why they are proud to be apart of our school and community. Feathers of staff and students have already been installed, with more to come! A great school pride piece added to the halls of GCHS! #gcsproud #gchsproud

GCHS seniors Sydney Ousley, Brody Marcum, and Jaylyn Gray attended the "Go For It!" a character development conference offered through the KYYMCA on January 14-16 at Camp Cedarmore . The Go For It Conference is an inspirational and motivational character development conference that builds servant leaders through a focus on introspective reflection and skills development.
