
Today is a pretty day for a little spring cleaning! Garrard County High School JAG students earned community service hours by cleaning up the school grounds!


GCS would like to congratulate Ms. Kyrin Norris for winning the Good Citizen Award presented by the local chapter of the DAR. Kyrin's application and personal essay will be sent to the state level to compete with other Good Citizen Award winners throughout the state of Kentucky!


Ms. Isaac's classes at GCHS have been learning about employability skills, and this week they participated in mock interviews with different GC staff members!





Safety Reminder for all GC Students/Families:
The School Safety Resiliency Act requires any person entering a school to show valid identification, even if the office staff recognizes the person.
Please have a valid ID ready when entering a GC school building.


9th and 10 Grade Students and Families:
Mark your calendar for March 3rd, 6:00PM- Gear Up is hosting a family night! Students and parents will learn about KEES Money, Dual Credit Scholarship, Work Ready Scholarship, ACT, and College Admissions. Students and parents can also discuss future opportunities and STEM careers with our local Area Technology Centers, BCTC and EKU Educational Talent Search.

Check out our GCHS seniors planning for their future! A group of THIRTY-TWO seniors attended a field trip to Eastern Kentucky University to tour the campus and learn about the different degree programs. 🎓

During GCHS' National Art Honors Society meeting this week, Alison Stiles was recognized for her KSBA banner design for this year's KSBA conference- the theme was Connect the Dots. Alison competed with other GCHS students, and her design was chosen to represent Garrard County! Great work Alison!


The JAG students at GCHS helped spread the word about the GC Preschool Program by handing out flyers within our community!

GCHS GEAR UP students visited Berea College today! Students toured the campus, learned about the Work Program and the No Tuition Promise Scholarship that is available to all students admitted to the college!

Today is Club Day at the high school! Did you know GCHS has welcomed back and revamped their Student Council? Last week several members of the new council were trained by Kentucky Student Council Association-with a huge focus on team building!

GCHS Senior, Jade Pevley and JAG Specialist Mr. Jimmie McCulley represented Garrard County High School's JAG Program today at the Capitol during the AT&T John "Bam" Carney Scholarship Announcement. Thanks to AT&T and John "Bam" Carney, TEN JAG students who are planning on going to college and majoring in Education will receive a $10,000 scholarship.
Jade was chosen as the JAGKY student representative to discuss the importance of JAG Programs and the opportunities given to students across the state.
